I have been informed that Lubbock will become an Amazon hub site. This means we will be delivering Amazon packages on Sundays starting in about a month. Also, we will have same-day delivery, which means when Amazon packages arrive at the post office early in the morning they will all be delivered that day.  More

Secretary's Report:   The Regular Branch Meeting of NALC Branch 2589, Lubbock, Texas, was called to order by President Mitch Terral at 7:04 P.M. The invocation was given by J. Smith. The membership then said the Pledge of Allegiance. The roll call of officers was taken. All officers were present except T. Robles. He called and will be here. I. Zorola was added to the attendance list for tonight due to illness. M. Terral read the attendance list for the August Executive Board and Steward meetings. J. J. Ramirez, Jr., was added to the Steward List due to illness. .  More

ELECTION NOTICE

This is official notice to all members of Branch 2589 that nominations will be taken at our regular meeting October 19, 2017, for delegates to the 2018 National Convention. The Branch President, Vice-President, Secretary and Treasurer will be delegates to the National Convention by virtue of their office.

Election of delegates will be by secret ballot and will be held from 5:00 P.M. until 7:00 P.M., November 16, 2017, at the Union Hall, 1101 - 31st Street, Lubbock, Texas. Requests for absentee ballots must be made individually, in writing, and should be mailed to the Election Committee, 1101 - 31st St., Lubbock, Texas, 79411. Absentee ballots must be requested after nominations have closed on October 19, 2017, but before November 1, 2017. Election results will be announced at the regular branch meeting, November 16, 2017.

LMU Negotiations:   Local negotiations will be conducted October 16 through November 14, 2017. All cities under our jurisdiction need to review their local memorandum of understanding and submit ideas for changes and your LMO you can be found on our website at  nalcbranch2589.org. If your city does not have a local agreement then we need to try and get one so please review the locals on our website and help us create one for your city by submitting your ideas. Bring your suggestions in writing, yes in writing to union meeting July 20 and August 17th. We would have to vote on any changes in September.
